The Canadian Red Ensign
Canada's 4th Flag 1892-1965. Combining the Red Ensign of Her Majesty's Fleet with the Canadian Coat-of-Arms, this adopted flag became the official Canadian Ensign, and almost the national flag. In 1945 the Government deemed it acceptable to be flown on government buildings and wherever a distinctive Canadian flag would be necessary. (Postcard 1908)
