Georgia lighthouses
May 2011 Alt RR #3, from #20 lednimedvedGeorgia lighthouses. For centuries, lighthouses have been erected to protect ships and guide them safely away from low shoals. Each lighthouse has individual markings making it readily identifiable from a distance. Advancements in technology have replaced many of the lighthouses, however many are operational and most are open to tourists and visitors providing a historic view of time gone by.

Cottage and trees

"Cottage and Trees", painted by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Laura painted this picture on cardboard to answer her baby sister's questions, "What does a tree look like?". Baby Grace grew up on the Dakota prairies. The picture hung in Laura's bedroom on Rocky Ridge farm.Wednesday, May 11, 2011
